UIB Holds First “Digitizing Your Business with WhatsApp” Event in Malaysia

On August 7, 2019 at the Oasis Discovery Centre, Conversational AI company UIB — together with partners Rice Bowl Startup Awards (RBSA) and the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF) — held its first “Digitizing Your Business with WhatsApp” event in Kuala Lumpur for Malaysian business leaders from companies including Bosch, Celcom, Shangri-La, OCBC Bank, and many others.

New Entrepreneurs Foundation ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards’ Senior Vice President of Projects Shariza Abdullah welcomed everyone to the event with an overview of the 2019 RBSA program and introducing last year’s RBSA award winner and WhatsApp Business solution provider UIB. 

Shariza also reminded the audience that next to WhatsApp, UIB is also offering the most popular APAC and global communications channels including LINE, WeChat, Telegram, and over 30 more.

Toby gave an introduction of WhatsApp for business, highlighting the differences between the WhatsApp Business app and the WhatsApp Business API. 

Issani shared how and why Instaweb benefits from using a UIB WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), including its impact on Instaweb’s revenue generation and customer retention.

Mel then gave a live demo of du telco’s UIB UnificationEngine®-powered “Blu” chatbot with text to voice and Arabic language translation.

Toby demonstrated UnificationEngine’s Content Management System (CMS) and showed the Dubai Future Accelerators’ DEWA video (see below) with UIB’s Gulraiz Khalid. The team also shared presentations on smart devices, homes, and estates with live demos and use cases.

Trazel then delivered a presentation on the five ways hotels are using UIB’s Digital Concierge to execute their smart hospitality solutions.

Toby continued with a deep dive into the UnificationEngine architecture and live demos of how the technology works. UnificationEngine makes users’ lives easier through integrations with other services and enterprise software, including ERP, CRM, SCM, and other systems from SAP, Salesforce, and others.

The audience asked the team questions about security, privacy, pricing, integration, supported languages, and community (group) chats. In answering an attendee’s question about data security, Toby said, “WhatsApp secures your and your customers’ information with end-to-end data encryption.”
